3. More concentrated the fuel, faster a fire can burn

1. Wind speed
2. Wind gives continuous oxygen
3. High temperature
4. Hot, dry conditions and high winds = bushfires
5. no rainfall can increase risk
6. Wind can light new fires (spot fires)
7. Wind reduces humidity and cause fires to continue burning
8. Wind blows flames into fresh fuel
Topography and slope
1. Every 10° slope increases the speed of fire doubles
2. decelerate going downhill
3. accelerate going uphill
Temperature inversion
1. inversions common during night when cool air collects close to ground
2. Inversion is where a layer of warm air sits above a layer of cold air
