                  1. 1st plain Xray
                    1. then MRI & bone scan
                      1. shows destruction & variable periosteal new bone formation
                        1. substantial soft tissue mass
                          1. in Ewing sarcoma
                        2. chest CT
                          1. to assess for lung mets
                          2. bone marrow sampling
                            1. exclude marrow involvement
                          3. Mx
                            1. in both tumours
                              1. combo chemo
                                1. then surgery
                                  1. amputation avoided where possible
                                    1. using en bloc resection of tumours w/ endoprosthetic resection
                              2. Ewing sarcoma
                                1. radiotherapy also used
                                  1. manage local disease, esp when surgical resection impossible/incomplete e.g. in pelvis, axial skeleton
