The shape of an object can make a design more desirable to a consumer, for instance the logo I used for shape is alot more interesting than if you just wrote shape and underlined it
Audience

The audience of a graphic as well, for instance an older person is less likely to enjoy a childish design than a young child would (hence the name childish)
Format

The format of a graphic can also have a massive influence to the age group it is marketed at, for instance a piece of paper with a cartoon drawing on it is less appropriate at a office meeting than a formal pie chart or graph
Colour

Colour can change the mood of the design massively, for example is a picture of an apple is taken in black and white it would be received as a more artistic image than a high contrast image of the same apple
