How can I help students with ADHD?
1. Be conscious of social and emotional difficulties for students

  3. Integrate practices within the IEP if applicable

What role does medication play in the treatment of ADHD?
1. Psychostimulants
  1. Ritalin, Dexedrine and Adderall are most common
2. About 2.7 million children take ADHD meds

4. Parents should work with teachers and health-care providers to determine appropriateness and effectiveness
  1. Teachers should never suggest medication
  2. Teachers cannot contact the physician, only parent
