Eukaryotic - complex and include all animal and plant cells
nucleus- contains genetic material organised into chromosomes
Cytoplasm - gel like substance where most chemical reactions happen. contains enzymes that control these chemical reactions
partially permeable membrane - holds cell together and controls what goes in and out
Mitochondria - contains the enzymes needed to control most of the reactions in aerobic respirations. respiration transfers energy that the cell needs to work
Ribosomes - these are involved in protein synthesis
prokaryotic - smaller and simpler,e.g. bacterial cells
born store genetic information in the form of DNA
DNA contains instructions in that control the activities of the cell allowing the whole organism to develop and function as it should
genetic material is stored differently in both types of cell
different parts of a cell are called subcellular structures
