Bloom's Level: Remembering and Applying
Lesson Plan: As a class, student's will read two versions of
The Little Mermaid, then review their understanding and
determine a moral using language and visual
cues from both works. We will hold a brief Socratic seminar,
during which student will discuss the morals and the
differences in both stories. They will then return to their
seats to compare and contrast the stories, creating a Venn
Diagram to show the similarities and differences in the
depiction of the mermaid in each story. These activities will
prepare them for tomorrow when we will start writing
(Creating) compare and contrast Essays.
