Oct 9 – From Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (63) and Through the Looking Glass (77). C.S. Lewis’s “On Three Ways of Writing for Children” (6). Oct 21 – Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking. Oct 23 – Continue with Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking. Alison Lurie’s “A Child’s Garden of Subversion” (130). Oct 28 – From Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie (955) and Michael Dorris’s essay, “Trusting the Words” (966). Oct 30 -November 6–  Thief of Bagdad. Now, if you can contribute that would be wonderful. There are multiple choice quizzes that can be made on this site, as well as you can upload class notes, ideas for what may be concentrated on in the test, and any questions you might have about the texts. If you prefer to not contribute that's okay too--but the material might be a bit skinny without you! And we don't really need to call dibs on anything, just contribute what you can, especially if you see one of the topics is lacking and you have notes or a quiz you make up that can help. I might open a discussion on The Thief of Baghdad for exam purposes. This isn't meant to be a real extension of class where we have big discussions but more exactly an exam study aid.
