Closed thesis statement is a statement of the main idea of argument that also previews major points writer intends to make. it limits the number of points writer will make.

Open thesis statement is one that does not list all points the writer intends to make. 

Counterargument thesis statement in which a summary of a counterargument usually qualified by although or but precedes the writers opinion.

Quantify- show through data. 

Qualify- show or prove to whatever it is.
