Cartilage-prevents bones from rubbing off each other A fluid-lubricates and cushions the joint Ligament=connect one bone to another Muscles contract and relax to bring about movement of muscles Tendons=connect muscle to bone Anatognistic muscles work opposite each other to bring about movement E.g. biceps and triceps
The eyes allow us to detect light and distinguish colours eyes can do this because the have special sensory cells which are found in the retina.
The skeleton is made up of bones (200 bones).Three main functions of the skeleton:support,movement and protection.
1.Support-without bones our bodies would collapse 2.Movement-bones together with muscles allow us to move about 3.Protection-skull protects the brain,rib cage protects heart and lungs,backbone protects spine Joint=formed where 2 bones meet function:to allow movement Fused join=joint where there is no movement e.g. the skull Ball and socket joint=allows movemnt in many directions e.g. the hip Hinged joint=movement in 1 direction e.g. knee
