Questão Responda
Structure ABBA to start, imitating rest because it sounds like a heartbeat. Then ABAB which is far more quick and rapid, as if he has noticed the true beauty of the city It is a sonnet with an octave then sestet making it seem catchy
Earth has not anything to show more fair: Dull would he be of soul who could pass by The fist two lines are simple and talk literally about the cities beauty
A sight so touching in its majesty: This City now doth, like a garment, wear Antithesis as touching is gentle and majesty is strong, garment are high class and a capital C is trying to symbolize a human entity
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare, Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie Silent and bare connote towards the city having natural beauty, antithesis. The morning beauty is natural and the rest are man made, connoting both are needed to create a sense of beauty
Open unto the fields, and to the sky; All bright and glittering in the smokeless air fields and sky are devices to connote the unknown and exploration Talks about the nature of the city, so we can empathize with it using visual imagery to do so
Never did sun more beautifully steep In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill; Giving the sun a sex connotes towards it being physically alive and giving out happiness , which is pathetic fallacy
Ne’er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep! The river glideth at his own sweet will: The personification of the river makes it seem happy like it wants to be a part of the city and everyone has free will here it is also a metaphor
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep; And all that mighty heart is lying still! The personification and metaphor connote we haven't seen the cities full beauty yet
