Questão Responda
What is Mass Movement Mass movement is the downslope movement of rock, soil or mud. Gravity and rainfall are usual trigger.
What Is Rock Fall? Sturdy rocks are prone to weathering (See Weathering flash card if unsure of types of weathering) like freeze-thaw which results in the rock losing contact with the cliff face and falls to the bottom of the cliff.
What Causes A Cliff To Slide? A slide happens when a section of soil or rock suddenly gives way and moves down a slope. The material moves as a single mass along a slippery zone. The slippery zone is often made up of wet sediment.
What Is Slumping? Slumping is the movement of material along a cliff (curved). It occurs where permeable rock e.g. gravel sits on impermeable rock e.g. clay.
