Direct Democracy Giving citizens an extraordinary amount of participation in the legislation process and granting them a maximum of political self-determination.
Representative Democracy Indirect Democracy Citizens elect representatives to make laws on their behalf.
Theocracy A system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god.
Anarchy A state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.
Totalitarianism A system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state.
Majority Rule A decision rule that selects alternatives which have a majority, that is, more than half the votes.
