Is the fox real? | no. first the poet uses the word imagine as the looks out the window, meaning this is probably all happening in his head. also he says it is very dark outside so he probably wouldn't be able to see the fox |
What is the importance and similarities of the black sky, the white snow, and the page the writer is writing on? | all are blank canvases that can be added to. the sky and the snow are metaphors for the page before the writer comes up with an idea. when the fox walks in the snow, it shows the writer has found an idea. |
how is the clock and the writer similar? | both have hands that move and an even beating, a heart for the writer, and ticking for the clock |
Why doesthe fox appear lame? | When foxes wait, the usually stand with one paw raised. The foxes shadow would look like he fox was missing a leg |

How is the writer felling while she writes this? | She is not very happy, wther she is depressed, tired, or lonely we cant be sure. She isnt looking to much into the bird or nature for a sign, but she still is seeking answers from heaven. |
Does her mood change at all from the beginning to the end of the poem? | at the start the writer soesnt expect much, but by the end she is more content after finding inspiration in the rook. she comes to the realization that inspiration comes from small things |
how is her writing a cycle? | she has found inspiration, she has written and now she waits again for more inspiration to write again and so on |
