What is speed and how is it calculated? (2) Speed is the concept of how fast something is moving (1), average speed (m/s) = distance covered/time (2)
What is the problem with speed? (1) Only tells us how fast something is not how fast something is moving in a certain direction (1)
What is velocity and how is it calculated? (2) Time taken to cover a linear distance known as displacement (1) Velocity = displacement/time (2)
What is acceleration and how is it calculated? (2) The rate of change of velocity (1), average acceleration = final velocity - initial velocity/time

What are scalors and vectors? (2) A scalar is a concept with one dimension like speed (1), a vector is a concept in two dimensions like velocity (2), vectors allow for physical application which is why we use them (3)
Explain what is meant by gravity (2) The attraction between two bodies (1) a mutual relationship where its magnitude is dependent on the mass of the two bodies (2)
What is friction? (1) Attraction between two bodies (1), the parallel attraction of two surfaces sliding over one another (2)
What Is air resistance? (1) The force generated between ourselves and air particles (1)
Explain newton first law of inertia (3) Objects prefer to stay in constant motion (1), a body will remain in a state of uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state of motion by a net external force acting upon it (2), mass is constant (3), net force = total of all the force acting on something (4), when net force is 0, the object will be still (5)
Explain newtons second law of acceleration (3) Force = mass x acceleration (1), mass stays constant (2), momentum = mass x velocity (3), momentum is the amount of motion that a body possesses at a given velocity (4) the rate of change of momentum of an object is directly proportional to the force causing it to accelerate, a change in momentum takes place in the direction in which the force is applied (5)
Explain newtons third law of reaction (1) When an object exerts a force on second object, there is a force equal in magnitude but opposite in direction (1)
What is ground reaction force? (1) The force of pushing down and having the force equally and oppositely applied (1)
What is impulse? (1) No matter how hard you apply force to an object the application is never instant (1), the force is applied over a period of time (2), this period of time multiplied by force is called impulse (3)
What is FOOTFALL and what is it's purpose? (2) Each time a sprinter is in contact with the floor (1), allows sprinter to add momentum or maintain velocity during a sprint (2) impulse = force x time (3)
IMPULSE = MOMENTUM.. if momentum is also impulse, we can theorise that... (1) Force x time = mass x velocity (1)
What is the difference between a negative impulse and a positive impulse? (2) NEGATIVE - the force generated when absorbing the body and its motion (1) it occurs on landing and is a slowing force (2) POSITIVE - this is the force generated to move the body forward (3), it occurs when the force is being applied to move you (4)
