CAD Modelling Allows changes to me made extremely quickly and results instantly seen compared to drawing. Components can be designed individually then combined on screen. Enables in depth design and development to be undertaken. Different projections can be easily generated once the model has been made. Designs can be stored electronically, including previous versions, and sent anywhere in the world almost instantly. Software for highly complex CAD can be expensive and require extensive training. Essentially saves development cost and reduces the time to get a product to market.
CAM Lathes Cut metals. Product extremely accurate and complex shapes that would be difficult or nearly impossible to produce on a hand lathe.
CAM Routers Cut wood and foam - similar to a milling machine but cutting softer materials. Used for block modelling. Cut both 2D and 3D shapes.
CAM Mills Metal. Produce flat and complex curved shapes almost impossible to do by hand. Extremely accurate. Work to fine tolerances in industry.
CAM Laser Cutters Cut plastic, metal, wood and card. Material does not need clamping. Can cut both simple and complex shapes.
