  1. Endorphins: Natural, opiate-like neurotransmitters linked to pain control and pleasure.
    1. Norepinephrine: controls alertness and arousal.
      1. Glutamate: Linked to memory.
        1. Seratonin: Controls mood, hunger, and sleep (Lack of it leads to depression)
          1. Acetylcholine: Enables muscle action, learning, and memory
            1. Dopamine: Influences movement, learning, attention, and emotion.
              1. Neurotransmitters, also known as "Chemical Messengers", are chemicals that enable neurotransmission.
                1. Types: 1) Excitatory : initiates an action potential-- 2)Inhibitory: Doesn't initiate an action potential.
                  1. GABA: an inhibitory neurotransmitter.
