Teeth
  1. Identify the types of human teeth (incisors, canines, premolars and molars)
    1. Incisors: the teeth at the front help you bite off and chew pieces of food.
      1. Canines: The pointy ones beside the incisors used for tearing and ripping food.
        1. Premolars: between the molars and the canines they have only two roots.help you crush and grind food
          1. Molars: beside the premolars and they have 3 roots, help you crush and grind food
          2. Describe the structure of human teeth, limited to enamel, dentine, pulp, nerves and cement, as well as the gums
            1. Enamel: Upper part of the teeth which protects the rest of the teeth.
              1. Dentine: The hardest bone in the body beneath the enamel, very hard to break down.
                1. Pulp: it is where the nerves are and it is protected by the dentine.
                  1. Cement: It is sticky substance that sticks the dentine to the root and act like a gum between those 2
                  2. Describe the proper care of teeth in terms of diet and regular brushing
                    1. Regular brushing: Help stop the bacteria from growing. The toothpaste is always slightly alkaline so that all the bacteria will neutralize
                      1. Diet: Have more intake of calcium will help the restoration of the damage done by the bacteria while having more sugar will increase the bactaria and will damage the enamel more
                      2. State the causes of dental decay in terms of a coating of bacteria and food on teeth, the bacteria respiring sugars in the food, producing acid which dissolves the enamel and dentine
                        1. Food on teeth: The food left on teeth will cause more bacteria to increase causing tooth decay
                          1. Sugar producing the acid: The acid formed will corrode the enamel and the dentine and cause tooth decay
