  1. Hitler's Views on the Weimar
    1. Hated the Weimar art so much that at the degenerate art exhibition in 1937, he showed Weimar images and stuck nasty comments to them however more people visited this section of the art exhibition.

        1. Disliked Gustav Stresemann for the ending of the passive resistance during the occupation of the Ruhr because he believed that the Germans were giving into the French.

          1. he was a great speaker when he gave as described as hypnotic speeches.
          2. Factors gaining them support
            1. The great depression, the Nazis promised that after all the unemployment in Germany they would give people work and bread.
              1. Goebells the minister of propaganda and enlightenment and his campaign targeted specific groups in society such as mothers, unemployed people and businessmen.
              2. Build up to Hitler becoming Chancellor
                1. Hitler becomes chancellor, January 30th 1933
                  1. German election of 1932, the Nazis become the single largest party in Germany the parliament.
                    1. Hindenburg distrusted hitler so instead appointed his friends von papen and von shleiccer instead who had no support of the army or the civilians and was eventually persuaded to appoint hitler.
                      1. n 1928 the Nazis had only 12 seat in the Reichstag, by july 1932 they had 230 seats.

                        1. Changes HITLER MADE
                          1. Because of the failure of the Munich putsch, hitler realised after his 1924 trial that in order to gain support he needs to do it democratically instead of through terror and violence.
                            1. Changed the name from the german workers party to the NSDAP and then from that to the Nazi party.
                              1. Better organisation and the swastika (flag) of the nazis
                              2. The Nazi party policies
                                1. deliberately vague so they would appeal to as many people as possible
                                  1. Promised to fight the communists as many businessmen and landowners were scared of their growing popularity.
