Dangers
Like always, there are dangers
that tag along with almost
everything that you can do
online. Social networking has
many, so here is a snapshot of
those.
When engaging with someone online remember:
YOU DO NOT KNOW THIS PERSON AT ALL- you
have know idea who they are and what their
intentions are.
Think about what you are posting: does it hold hidden information? Do not tell
anyone personal information about yourself. it is bad for someone to know
everything about you as they could put that information to dangerous uses.
Photos are bad for this: think about what someone might be able t infer
from what they are showing. Also, do you have location on? That is another
way for someone to gain information about you.
What you post now will stay with you forever, and can be
assessed by colleges, potential employers and insurance boards,
in the future.
Think whether you can be a danger to someone else! Make sure you are not a
cyberbully by checking comments/messages are kind and relevant. Also, how would
you feel if someone sent this to you?
