Chemistry
  1. CHANGES OF STATE
    1. Solid
      1. - Particles vibrate around fixed positions
        1. - Do not have a lot of energy or room to vibrate quickly
          1. - Fixed Shape
            1. - Cannot be compressed
              1. - Connected by strong forces of attraction
              2. Liquid
                1. - Flow reasonably easily and can be poured
                  1. - Particles have room to move
                    1. - Connected by weak forces of attraction
                      1. - Take the shape of a container
                        1. - Cannot be compressed
                        2. Gas
                          1. - Spread out and move quickly
                            1. - Connected by almost no forces of attraction
                              1. - Particles have enough energy to overcome forces of attraction
                                1. - Fills the container
                                  1. - Can be compressed
                                2. HEATING AND COOLING

                                  Anotações:

                                  • More information in Chemistry book
                                  1. Straight line
                                    1. - This line is straight because the liquid is solidifying. The particles of the liquid are rearranging into a solid, they are overcoming the forces of attraction between them and changing state.
                                    2. Impurities
                                      1. -Raise the boiling point -Lower the melting point
                                    3. DIFFUSION
                                      1. The net movement particles from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration
                                        1. Brownian Motion
                                          1. Brownian motion explains why particles do not disperse in straight lines
                                            1. With brownian motion, you can see wether one has bigger or smaller
