  1. An action or event that occurred an indefinite time.
    1. Grammar notes

            1. Talking about general experiences (ever, never)
              1. Events that recently occurred (just)
                1. Events that have not occurred up to now (yet)
                  1. Events that occurred before you expected (already)
                    1. Events that began in the past and haven't changed (for, since)
                    2. Function
                      1. For actions of duration that occurred in the past (before now) but are of unspecified time.
                        1. For actions that started in the past but continue to the present.
                          1. For actions that started in the past but stopped recently
                          2. EXAMPLES
                            1. She has lived here all her life.
                              1. I have worked here since I graduated school.
                                1. He has finished his homework.
                                  1. We have been to Canada.
                                    1. He has forgotten her folder.
