    1. Evidence: He is the president
      1. Effect: Earned the votes and respect of many people so he is heard and listened to
      2. Evidence: The way he speaks (No stuttering, etc.)
        1. Effect: He has courage and confidence in himself (During this speech) which is a sign of leadership so the people listen to him
        2. Evidence: Is one of the only speakers in those hard times
          1. Effect: People look to him for advice/guidance
        3. Logos
          1. Evidence: “dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal”
            1. Effect: Reminds the people why the war was started and why it must finish
            2. Evidence: “but it can never forget what they did here”
              1. Effect: Tells the people the world will not forget what happened here, the dead will always be remembered
              2. Evidence: “that government of the people, by the people, for the people”
                1. Effect: Shows the people the nation is still a democracy and will not change because of what hsa happened
              3. Pathos
                1. Evidence: “these dead shall not have died in vain”
                  1. Effect: Makes the people remember loved ones and want to avenge their death
                  2. Evidence: “this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom”
                    1. Effect: Gives people hope and happiness
                    2. Evidence: “from these honored dead we take increased devotion”
                      1. Effect: Encourages the people to push harder to end the war
