                1. A drop in humidity was recorded, this is likely to have caused an increase in atmospheric pressure
                  1. Causing the squall line to move forward at an accelerated pace
                  2. Damages were estimated at £10 million
                    1. 6 people were injured
                      1. 100 properties damaged
                        1. Caused a school to close for a week due to a collapsed roof
                          1. Cars damaged
                            1. Potential to cause water contamination
                            2. Summer Heat wave
                              1. 2003
                                1. Researchers say that this heat wave was the hottest on the continent for at least 5 centuries
                                  1. Atlantic cyclones brought cool and wet weather for a short period at the end of July
                                    1. Temperatures started to increase substantially from the 3rd of August
                                    2. Temperatures reached 38.5 degrees
                                      1. According to the BBC more than 2,000 people than usual died in the UK
                                        1. Many suffered heat stroke, dehydration, sun burns and deaths from air pollution
                                          1. People drowned from trying to cool off in rivers
                                            1. There was an increase in skin cancer
                                              1. Drinking water supplies were effected
                                                1. Hose pipe bans
                                                  1. Agriculture was effected
                                                    1. Animals died
                                                      1. Tourism increased

                                                          1. Undergrounds became unbearable

                                                                    1. This came about as a result of two successive winters of below average rainfall
                                                                      1. Agriculture suffered

                                                                          1. Cracks appeared in the soil which was leading to unstable foundations
                                                                            1. Low low in rivers meant that pollution had a greater impact on the environment
                                                                              1. Fish were more likely to die because of low flow, low oxygen levels and higher water temperatures.
