movement during the early
19th century in the United
States.
1820: The Missouri Crisis was a
financial panic that swept across
the United States.
May 1822: The Vesey Revolt
was led by Denmark Vesey
and to a lesser extent, by his
accomplice, Peter Poyas.
1846-1848: The United
States admitted Texas
to the union in 1845.
1850: the Fugitive Slave Act,
it was an important part of
the compromise of 1850.
1852: Uncle
Tom's Cabin, was
a novel written in
this year.
