Resumo de Recurso

Página 1

Reducing dune erosion at Ynsylas: Dunes are fenced, this allows more sand to pile up on the dunes, the fence being used as an obstacle. Marram grass (Ammophila arenaria) is planted, this holds the dunes together. People are stopped from walking across the dunes, reducing erosion. Cars are stopped from travelling over the dunes, again reducing erosion.

BLOWOUT HOLES are where people have walked in the dunes, wearing away the Marram grass. This allows the sand to blow elsewhere.
