IVE Chapter I

Through understanding the spirit of the Ten Commandments, let us reflect upon the freedom and choices in our lives, understand that God grants us freedom not for [blank_start]indulgence[blank_end], but for [blank_start]love[blank_end].

God loves man and He grants us freedom, hoping that man can choose [blank_start]good[blank_end] and avoid [blank_start]evil[blank_end] with [blank_start]Freewill[blank_end].

In 1250 B.C., the Israelites were led by Moses to become free people. On their way to the promised land, however, due to [blank_start]human weaknesses[blank_end] and [blank_start]desires[blank_end], they corrupted, forgot about God, lost their directions in life and trapped themselves in [blank_start]sins[blank_end]. In order to [blank_start]guide[blank_end] man to choose good and avoid evil, God gave us the [blank_start]Ten Commandments[blank_end] to show us the directions in life.

Nevertheless, when people indulge themselves into evil things that [blank_start]neglect[blank_end] the others, they will be restricted by their [blank_start]personal desires[blank_end] and controlled by [blank_start]lusts[blank_end], unaware of their indulgence in evil-doings and hence damage the relationship between [blank_start]man and man[blank_end], as well as man and God.
