    NOTICE!!!
I am a student just like y'all, so please forgive me for any inaccuracies. If you feel that I misinterpreted something please let me know so we can discuss (the point of a study group) These are not answers. They are huge hints/tips for guiding you to the correct answer. Feel free to post your answer on the discussion board and we can compare!

Slide 2

    Problem 1- rotating sky simulator
    a) Look at each star in the Big Dipper constellation, which one doesn't set below equator? It is NOT the whole asterism b) Look at each star in the Southern Cross constellation, which one/ones do not rise above equator? NOT whole asterism c) Add your latitude 30.3 + the angle you are given. Should come out to a familiar angle d) You should get same angles for both... e) What did you notice happened to the angle as you changed your latitude? did it get larger or smaller? f) Now observe your changing latitude to the North pole. Does the north pole go higher or lower?

Slide 3

Problem 2 - The Solar Motion Simulator
    A) As the year passes, notice how the location of sunrise/sunset flips B) Turn on the Sun's declination circle (yellow line.) The angle between the yellow line and the horizon is the angle. You do not need to find a number, just state if it is wide, shallow, medium. C) Observe the shadow at the solstices D) How are the locations of the sun during different seasons relative to each other between the two locations?

Slide 4

    Problem 3 -Ranking Task
    A) okay...think about it guys. all locations are EQUAL from the equator...plus it will ALWAYS be 24 hours for Earth to make a full rotation... B) look carefully at which locations are in a summer solstice and which ones are in the winter solstice. Winter = less sun & Summer = more sun, plus they are all equally distant from the sun HINT: I got a half and half sort of answer C) Think again back to question B. Summer = HOT & Winter = COLD

Slide 5

Problem 4 - Phases of the Moon
    A) OKAY GUYS THIS IS EASY. Look at the illustration on B. B) Trace along the dotted line (orbit of moon.) the part of the moon inside the line is what Earth sees. Anything outside of that line is irrelevant. Think about the phases of the moon. hint: two phases are opposite but equal.
