New Student Orientation

Upon returning to school students must bring in a note from parent containing : date returning to school, date of absence, reason for absence, signature of parent.

GA law allows for what reasons for an excused absence: personal illness, illness of immediate family member, death in the family, recognized religious holiday, court order

In order to advance to the next grade, students must not be absent more than 9 days.

To be counted present, students must be a school the entire day.

Missed assignments cannot be made up for unexcused absences.

If my absence is excused, I can collected the missed assignments and I have 5 days to complete them for credit.

Missed assignments for unexcused absences can be made up if the absence is pre-approved by the principal. A note must be presented to the principal prior to the absence.

If I have an early dismissal or come it late, I do not have to make up missed assignments.

After school in late bus after the 2:45 bell rings.

When instructed by their teacher for the use in class.

Using your school assigned log in and password

You do not make changes to the software, screen savers, icons or by filters.

You download apps for use in class.

Students should run for the nearest exit.

Wait for the fireman to come to your class to get you.

Proceed out of the building in an orderly manner to the spot your teacher has designated for you to wait for the all clear.

Students should wait in their classrooms for the all clear.

Students should go to the hallway outside of their classroom and kneel facing the wall.

Students should remaining in the hallway quietly so that teachers and administrators can hear the weather radios and wait for the all clear.

Students to exit the building in an orderly manner and wait until told to reenter the building.

Code Yellow is a warning that something is happen in the building and students should stay in their classrooms until all clear is called.

During a Code Yellow, if you are out of your classroom, you should return immediately.

During a Code Yellow, students are to move away from the windows and doors.

During a Code Yellow, you should hide in the nearest bathroom or closet.

Code Red means that their is an unidentified person or threat to the building.

Teachers will move students away from doors and windows, turn out the lights and lock the door.

If you are not in your classroom during a Code Red, you should run to the nearest exit.

If you are not in your classroom during a Code Red, you should hide in the nearest closet or bathroom.

You must follow school rules and dress code.

You must be picked up within 30 minutes of the event ending.

You must have been counted present for the day.

You could not have been in ISS for the day.
