    In section B of Paper 2 you will have a choice of 2 tasks. Both of these tasks are called transactional writing. You must only provide a response to one task.Please begin by watching this short revision video which provides and overview of the requirements and revises the conventions of the 5 purposes of transactional writing.

    Forms of transactional writing
    When you come to respond to the transactional writing tasks it is important that you identify the particular form or type of non-fiction text you are being asked to produce as each form has its own set of structural and language conventions which you are expected to know and use in your responses, choosing the particular language and structural devices of form that are appropriate to the audience and purpose of your text.Please watch the video opposite to revise the forms of transactional writing and the conventions of language and structure of each form.

    Understanding the assessment objectives
    The assessment objectives used to assess your response to the transactional writing task are the same as the ones used for the imaginative writing task on paper 1 but the focus is slightly different as you are being expected to demonstrate mastery of a different set of skills.To help you understand how the assessment objectives apply to transactional writing, please watch the video opposite.
