1. When adding and subtracting fractions you don't have to change mixed numbers into improper fractions

   • Always find a common denominator
   • Add or subtracts the top numbers
   • Simplify your answer to get your final answer

2. When multiplying and dividing numbers ALWAYS change the mixed numbers into improper fractions

   • MULTIPLICATION
     • Cross Council
     • Multiply the top and Bottom numbers
     • Simplify
   • DIVIDING
     • "Dividing fractions is as easy as pie, invert the second and multiply!"
     • Change to an improper fraction
       • Turn the second fraction upside down and change the ÷ to a ×
         • Cross Council
           • Simplify
