Aerobic Respiration
- Chemical reactions that need energy
take place in all living cells.
- Respiration is the way that all
cells get that energy from food.
- (This is when respiration uses oxygen)
- The energy is used in other cells.
- Respiration takes place in all cells in
organelles called mitochondria.
- Glucose + Oxygen --> Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy
- C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O
- When we exercise, our
muscles require more energy
- The heart then beats faster so that more
oxygenated blood cells can reach the cells
- Breathing Increases so that more oxygen can be gotten to
cells and so that the removal of waste products increases
