What is the goal of Human Relations? Help people positively interact with one another.

Reinforcement A reward that follows something you do. Reinforcement comes in many forms ranging from getting an A on a test (Reinforcement from studying) to winning money from a lottery ticket you purchased.
Human Relations is reinforcing for all of those involved, but it also involves what? Risk Risk taking is a necessary part of human relations.
Negative self-talk Imagined risk in human relations (this type of risk only exists in a person's mind. True risk - Parachuting from an airplane.
Positive self-talk Overcoming the fear of imagined risks. This is one of the keys to successful human relations.
Being Honest Another very important key to successful human relations.
What is the most important quality for building new relationships? Self-confidence
Self-confidence Believing in yourself and your ability to succeed.
What are the 3 key factors in building positive relationships? Self-confidence, consideration, and communication.
Attitude A set of beliefs a person holds.
What acts like a filter for information that passes through our senses? Attitude Also influences how we understand information and how we respond to it.
Attitudes reflect lasting what? Feelings towards people, objects, issues, and events. By lasting, we mean the feelings tend to remain unchanged for long periods of time, unlike moods that change quickly and often.
What is inflection? The change in tone of a speakers voice.
The loudness of our speech conveys a great deal. Volume
Pace The rate at which we speak. Our speaking pace changes as a result of certain attitudes, stress, and worries.
Word choice Our attitudes are also conveyed by the words we choose to describe people or situations.
Taking Turns Our attitudes can also be expressed by how willing we are to let others talk.
When someone is talking to you, you should/shouldn't do what? Think about what they're saying. Do not interrupt the speaker or rush your response as soon as they're done speaking. If you're not sure what they said try repeating their words with a slight variation.
Body language Most people communicate with their posture and body movement.
Productivity The ability to complete a job.
Effectiveness The ability to reach a goal or complete a task.
Efficiency Completing a task or goal with minimum expenditure of time and effort.
What is false productivity also know as? "Spinning your wheels"
What does being productive mean? It means that you meet or surpass the requirements at work.
What is standards of performance referred as? Performance goals
In a service job, what is waste? An action that does not help you reach your goal.
What is a powerful force that improves productivity? Modeling
What is the definition of Modeling? Behaving as you like others to behave
What is the definition of tolerance? Accepting people for who they are.
