Long-term technical preparation
  1. Refinement technique; the greater the efficiency of movement, the greater the impact of any physical effort, the greater the result. E.G swimming with a poor technique uses lots of energy
    1. Observational feedback; when analysisng a perfomer you should compare them to the perfect model. This can be broken down to; start position, transition, execution, recovery (e.g tennis serve)
      1. Video feedback is increasingly used (Dartfish, prozone) to asses technique. These packages allowed coaches to; observe several performers at a time, analyse biomechanics of performance, compare athletes easily, trach players movements
        1. Technical ergogenic aids
          1. Force plates; calculate force impacted in surfaces e.g long jumpers
            1. Pedometry; device to calculate distance covered
              1. Heart rate monitioring; alllows athletes to determine intensity of training
                1. Power guages; measures power accurately
                  1. Wind tunnels and aerodynamics; used to test cycles
