How combinations of media language elements are used to create meaning and construct representations that address and appeal to an intended audience?
  1. Straight off the bat the Body language Zendaya uses is very empowering yet sensual pose
    1. Her facial expression gives off a very strong feeling of seduction and power because of how she looks directly at you like she could manipulate you with a click of the finger
    2. She is wearing red and red is usually associated with danger/love/sexiness and the photo shot has done very well to interpret Zendaya in this way
      1. The typography used follows a red and black colour scheme also following the colour scheme Zendaya is wearing but in white characters it says "Rod HOT Zendaya" the could be a play on words to show how hot Zendaya really is seeing as 'White hot' is considered the hottest colour on the sprectrum
        1. The use of language in the front cover uses words that closely relate to beauty in some way and the fact they've used a very beautiful model as their cover girl it plays hand in hand
          1. The language used in this front cover closely relates to things that relate to beauty and considering the fact that they have used a very beautiful model it plays hand in hand with what they are trying to do
            1. In this front cover featuring George Clooney he has a very laid back pose but also a slightly intimidating and sensual glance looking directly at the camera
              1. The colours used in the front cover are very subtle on the eyes and this only emphasises George Clooney's look seeing as he is already a big hit with the ladies and the colours used compliment his look and give off a bigger effect to the audience
                1. George Clooney's outfit is very business man/Autum looking and the associations that coming with looking like a business man would be that you're cunning, very persuasive, a sharp dresser etc and that is how George is dressed, also with autum you would normally associated that with different colours of brown and long walks along the park where the leaves slowly fall off the trees and George is representing that romantic scenario.
                  1. The language used gives off a old fashioned feel when men were more glorified and capitalism seen as the key thing to greatness in society. E.g "A Swiss account where dollars and people hide", "What they say about us, the world's ultimate women make you look your best"
                  2. Zoonen would agree that George Clooney is being represented as the key spectacle due to the fact he is already seen as one of the most handsome and this front cover just glorifies this. She would also agree with the fact that George is being represented as a key patriarchal figure in society because within the front cover he is being represented in a way that highlights how a man should be the bread winner, smartly dressed etc.
                    1. The typography used also follows a similar colour scheme to what George is wearing. With the colours white/gold being used it gives off an elite feel like whoever is featured on the front cover is considered to be someone who is in the top rankings
