  1. familes should not depend on the welfare state as it produces dependency culture, can cause break down in familes and cause lone parent familes

      1. new right believe that women are married to the state, as the state takes the role of the breadwiner
        boys lack a role model which causes deviannce and social problems

        redirect the benefit to the people who need it and make them return to the traditional family
