• Request client inputs

• Area of interest? (lat lon constraints) Min licence size? e.g 200ML/yr Restrictions allowed? Y/N Min distance to major road? 'Categories' to remove / include? (e.g. brewing v quarrying) Unwanted aquifers? (e.g. Chalk)

• Open NALD Excel database (obtained from regulator)

• Remove duplicates. (reduces aggregated licences to a single entry)

• Remove all outside search area

• Remove all not close enough to major road

• Remove any undesired aquifer units

• Remove all licences under required volume

• Remove any unwanted primary categories

• Remove any unwanted secondary categories 

• Display long-list as table and as map

• Review initial screened results. 

• Continue to second screening phase
