What is a drug? A chemical that causes a biological effect
What is the difference between medicine and poison? Medicine is a drug specifically for therapeutic purposes. Whereas poison produces harmful toxic effects to the body.
What is the difference between poison and drugs? Provide an example. The difference is determined by the dose taken. Eg. Aspirin can be consider both drug and poison. If taken at the recommend dosage it will relieve pain without life threatening results. On the other hand, if taken at higher dosage it can cause life threatening effects.
What is the difference between pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics? Pharmacokinetics is the study of the fate of the drug in the body (what does the body do to the drugs). Pharmacodynamics is the study of the action of the drug in the body ( what does the drug do to the body).
