Theories of racial, ethnic, and cultural development (sue &sue) conformity- seek approval and identify with the dominant culture. dissonance- conflict with loving your heritage and noticing the barriers. resistance and immersion- resists the dominant culture (the oppressed) and immersion yourself in heritage (finding yourself) introspection- my peace is important. i choose to focus on my heritage. integrative- accepts culture and finds a balance.
