Structural Proteins | Gives the body structure, rigidty and strength. Examples include collagen in ligaments and keratin in skin. |
What controls our characteristics? | A combination of genes and the environment |
Genotype | A persons genetic make-up. It can refer to the whole of an individual's genes or the genes for a perticular characteristic. Usually written as two letters e.g. BB |
Phenotype | A persons observable physical features, e.g. build, pr a single characteristic. The Phenotype will depend on the persons genes, but may also be affected by how these interact with the environment. |
