Resource summary

Aerobic Respiration
  1. Chemical reactions that need energy take place in all living cells.
    1. Respiration is the way that all cells get that energy from food.
    2. (This is when respiration uses oxygen)
      1. The energy is used in other cells.
        1. Respiration takes place in all cells in organelles called mitochondria.
          1. Glucose + Oxygen --> Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy
            1. C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O
            2. When we exercise, our muscles require more energy
              1. The heart then beats faster so that more oxygenated blood cells can reach the cells
                1. Breathing Increases so that more oxygen can be gotten to cells and so that the removal of waste products increases
