•  Nervous System -  Primary control center for the body   

• Central Nervous System -  control center for the entire nervous system

• Peripheral Nervous System - nerve processes that connect the CNS with glands, muscles and receptors. (cranial and spinal nerves)

• Brain

• Spinal Cord

• Somatic Nervous System - Carry impulses from the CNS to skeletal muscle tissue (voluntary)

• Autonomic Nervous System - Carries info from the CNS to cardiac muscle, glands, and smooth muscle (involuntary)

• Sympathetic Nervous System - 

• Parasympathetic Nervous System 

• Afferent - Composed of nerve cells that carry info from receptors to the CNS 

• Efferent - Composed of nerve cells that carry impulses from the CNS to muscles and glands
