                      1. Chronic Stimulation (Anaemia, Infectious Disease)
                        1. Diffuse Neoplasia
                          1. Extramedullary Hematopoesis
                    4. Nodular
                      1. Wet Consistency
                        1. Heamatoma
                          1. Neoplasia
                            1. Especially Haemangioma/ haemangiosarcoma
                              1. Haemangioma

                                  1. Primary Sites (Canine):
                                    1. Spleen

                                1. Non vascular(Mesenchymal) neoplsia/ metastasis
                                  1. Inflammation/Abscesses
                                    1. Ex. Rhodococcus equi, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Strep equi, Bovine traumatic reticuloperitonitis
                                    2. Fibrosarcoma
                                      1. Fibrocytes
                                      2. Leimyosarcoma
                                        1. Smooth muscle cells
                                      3. Benign Nodular Hyperplasia is very common in old dogs
                                    3. Metastases to the Spleen
                                      1. Ex. Malignant Melanoma
                                  2. Atrophy (Ageing/Wasting)
                                    1. Contraction ex. Shock
                                      1. Splenic Rupture
                                        1. Splattered spleen syndrome
                                        2. Siderofibrotic plaques/gamma-gandy bodies
                                          1. Haemosiderin deposits

                                              1. In peripheral (subcapsular) zones most prone
                                                1. Where spleen is distended w/ blood, more prone to infarction
