What does a ramp do? A ramp uses a smaller force over a longer distance in loading objects.
What is a pitch? The distance between adjacent threads on a screw.
What are wedges used for? Wedges are used to split objects because they change the direction of the force and increase its size.
What are some examples of wedges? Pins, needles, nails and doorsteps are all examples of wedges.
List some examples where zips can be found: Clothing, purses, sleeping bags, suitcases, handbags and pencil cases are just some examples where zips are found.

What does a screw with a small pitch do? A screw with a small pitch is easy to screw into a piece of wood, but to do so it must be turned many times with a screwdriver.
What does a screw with a large pitch do? A screw with a large pitch takes fewer turns of a screwdriver to be inserted into wood, but requires more force than the previous screw.
What does the screwdriver do? The screwdriver turns a screw into a piece of wood.
