What must you consider with shoulder disarticulation? Heavily educating the use of prosthetic during intervention due to loss of entire UE.
What must you consider with transhumeral amputation? Fracture, dislocation, or peripheral nerve injury may delay prosthetic intervention.
What must you consider with elbow disarticulation? They might have a suspending socket. Heavy education on the prosthetic.
What must you consider with transradial amputation? Fracture, dislocation, or peripheral nerve damage may delay prosthetic intervention. Functionally better than amputations below this point.
What must you consider with wrist disarticulation? Difficult with cosmetic and function with prosthetic.
What must you consider with partial hand amputation? During prosthetic training if it fails using toes to replace thumb could be an option.
What must you consider with hemipelvectomy? Does not allow activation of prosthetic through a residual limb. Initial motion is activated through WB.
What must you consider with transfemoral amputation? No ability to WB through residual limb. Reeducate on balance and WB through prosthetic. Watch out for hip flexion contractures.
What must you consider with knee disarticulation? Able to WB through residual limb. Watch out for gait deviations and hip flexion contractures.
What must you consider with Transtibial amputation? Inability to WB through residual limb. But patellar tendon should be area of WB status. Reeducate on balance. Watch out for knee flexion contractures.
What must you consider with syme's amputation? Able to WB through residual limb. Reeducate on WB through prosthetic and toe off phase during gait.
What must you consider with transmetatarsal and chopart's amputation? Reeducate on balance, WB, and proprioception.
With wrapping what are the general stuff you must consider? No wrinkles. Diagonal pattern use. Pressure distally. Secure with tape. Change as many times as needed.
What must you consider when wrapping with transtibial amputation? Promote full elbow extension 1st and anchor above the knee
What must you consider when wrapping with transfemoral amputation? Promote full hip extension 1st and anchor around the pelvis
What must you consider when wrapping with transradial amputation? Promote full elbow extension 1st
