adventure An ADVENTURE film is a genre of film whose plot features elements of travel. They typically involve protagonists who must leave their home or place and go to far away lands to fulfill a goal.
comedy A COMEDY film is a category of film in which the main emphasis is on humor.
drama A DRAMA film is a category of narrative fiction or semi fiction intended to be more serious than humorous in tone when the characters are in conflict at a crucial moment in their lives.
fantasy FANTASY is a genre of speculative fiction set in a universe often inspired by real world myth and folklore.
horror HORROR is a genre which often involves the intrusion of an evil ghost, force or event in order to frighten, scare, or disgust.

history / historical A HISTORY or HISTORICAL fiction film is a genre in which the plot takes place in a setting located in the past.
Science Fiction / Sci-Fi A SCIENCE FICTION or SCI-FI is a film genre that uses fictional science-based depictions of phenomena such as extraterrestrial lifeforms, alien worlds, time travel, along with futuristic elements.
musical A MUSICAL film belongs to a genre in which songs, the narrative and the characters are connected. They are sometimes accompanied by dancing.
