What are the 7 causes for why we forget? | Encoding failure Decay (ie: disappears) Consolidation failure (ie: concussion) Interference Motivated forgetting Retrival failure Prospective forgetting |
How can we improve our memory? | Organization Overlearning Massed practice vs. Spaced practice Active Learning vs. Rereading Mnemonic Devices |
Explain one of the causes of motivated forgetting. (There are 3 kinds) | Suppression is when someone tries to forget something on purpose by putting the memory out of their mind. |
