Questão Responda
What level must Ca2+ reach to bind to the troponin complex? >5 micro moles
Which part of the troponin complex does Ca2+ bind to? Troponin C
What happens once Ca2+ has bound? Troponin I pulls the tropomyosin away from the actin
Once the tropomyosin pulls away from the actin... The myosin head can bind to it
ADP is released from the head and... ATP replaces it
Once ATP binds,... The head releases the actin
ATP is hydrolysed to ADP & Pi, and.... The myosin head undergoes a conformational change
Once hydrolysis occurs... The myosin head weakly rebinds
When the Pi is released... A powerstroke occurs
What happens in the power stroke? The myosin head returns to its original conformation pulling the actin with it
