1. Mushrooms start as spore
2. Produce hyphae which develop into mycelium on soil
3. Hyphae grow upwards
4. A tightly closed cap forms at the top of the hyphae
5. This increases in size & opens as the mushroom grows
6. Pink gills form underneath cap & spores are produced here
7. When the mushroom are ripe spores are released
