What's the function of the short bone? Increases in stability and reduces unwanted movement
What's the function of the long bone? It's a source of red blood cells production, it's essential for oxygen delivery It also enables large movements, allowing increased speed or range in which an object can be moved It acts as levers to generate more force on an object
What's the function of the flat bone? To protect the vital organs to reduce injury Enables muscle attachment to create movement Produces blood cells in adults
What's the function of irregular bone? Irregular bone vary in shape and structure and therefore do not fit into any other category (flat, short, long, or sesamoid) They often have a fairly complex shape, which helps protect internal organs For example, the vertebrae, irregular bones of the vertebral column, protect the spinal cord
